We want everything we do to be fun- and that includes raising the funds much needed to keep the work of the charity going. We hold regular fundraisers, usually in Cardiff, so keep a lookout for details of upcoming events on social media. Past frivolities have included pub style quizzes, a school disco at The Gate Theatre and a live music night at The Talent Shack. We are currently planning a fashion show and a ‘Glitz and Glamour’ ball.
Money raised through events makes our work possible. Currently, most of our funding comes from The Arts Council of Wales, and we are supported on a project by project basis. This means funding the day to day running of the office- which is now manned full time (and then some!) – is the most difficult part of our work. Fundraising events and donations go directly into making our work possible, mostly paying for things like printer ink, envelopes and other office equipment, as well as rent, light and the phone. Of course, if you make a donation or raise funds for a specific project, then that is where your money will go. At every fundraiser we tell people what their money will do!
