As many of our followers know, each summer Taking Flight embark on a tour of Wales, performing a Shakespeare piece to audiences from Denbigh to Tintern and Caernarfon to Pembroke, with lots of places in between!
As part of this project, we run a program of outreach with D/deaf, disabled and disadvantaged young (and sometimes older) people in Wales. This year is no different and Gemma Prangle, our choreographer, and her assistant Jenna Preece, will be running dance workshops with participants performing alongside our professional cast at certain venues. This exciting work challenges perceptions of disability and enables disabled people to participate in quality theatre performance. Disabled young people gain positive role models as they work alongside professional disabled actors who may well inspire them to pursue a career in the arts. We need to raise funds to support this important project. Please check out our Kickstarter on http://kck.st/1EE1D7P watch the video, back the project if you can and share the link with your friends, family and network. We want to raise the funds, of course, but also reach out to people who have never heard of us and would be interested in experiencing or getting involved in our work.
